My Mission

"I treat every patient like they are family. I believe it is so important to listen carefully to each patient and see what it is they want and work together to find the best solution. I like to spend time with and learn about each patient so I can give them exactly what they want to have a great smile that will last and bring them confidence. Having a healthy mouth is very important as it leads to increased overall health and quality of life, especially in the late stages of life to be able to eat healthy food. I want your teeth to last. I have worked with many patients that have a variety of different health issues and I can help come up with a specific plan for you. I love meeting new people and enjoy helping others. I look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to your new dental home."

Life & Hobbies

Dr. Taylor loves spending time with his family. Dr. Taylor and his wife have 3 children, one boy and two girls. Dr. Taylor enjoys hiking, exercising, camping, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, snowboarding, learning, watching movies and TV shows, community service, mentoring, and eating good food.

Dr. Janice Darko, DDS, MS, MS is an active member of the American Dental Association.

Life & Hobbies 

Dr. Darko, DDS, MS, MS moved to America from Ghana in 2008. Dr. Darko, DDS, MS, MS was the first Black woman to graduate from the University of Utah’s School of Dentistry. “This is bigger than me. This is not just about me. This is about representing my community,” she said in an interview with KUTV. “Being a Black woman from Africa, I still have to go home. Cook, clean, be a wife, take care of my children. I have all of those responsibilities”.  

Dr. Darko, DDS, MS, MS has a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the University of Ghana, and two Masters’ degrees in Nutritional Science and Analytical Chemistry from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

Dr. Darko, DDS, MS, MS used her time at the University of Utah School of Dentistry to create the Black and Dental Art Student Association. “The mission of the BDSA is to provide a firm and stable policy environment for effective mainstreaming of the African culture into all aspects of University of Utah Dental school life and to ensure strong emergence of a vibrant, creative art environment at the University of Utah campus. To entertain, inform, and inspire people around the globe and the dental community through the power of unparalleled art, reflecting iconic creative minds, and innovative technologies to bring inspiration, and innovation to every dental student, faculty, and staff who has a talent for art.”  

Dr. Darko, DDS, MS, MS has been a proud member of the United States Navy Reserve for nearly 14 years.  

Outside of dentistry, Dr. Darko, DDS, MS, MS enjoys spending time with her family, watching movies, playing tennis, and salsa dancing.
